Gluing End Grain (Not!)
Band Saw Box demo (samples, turning wood inside out, cone extensions)

 bandsaw_box.pdf  WOODWORK LAW NUMBER ONE:

Glue will not stick very well end grain (neither end grain to side grain nor end grain to end grain).

Bandsaw Box Rule:
So, when you cut apart a block to make a bandsaw box, first determine which way the grain runs, and then follow this rule:

The last pair of cuts on a band saw box should be across the grain in order to avoid end-grain gluing.

Directions to The Wood Dump

To get to the dump from OCAD, I usually go along Dundas to University and then south (connecting to York St.) to Lakeshore (running under the Gardner) and along Lakeshore to Cherry Street and then south to Unwin. (I just noticed that Cherry Street is not labelled on my map, but it's the only street that goes down to Unwin east of the dump)
